Description:
The Image Quality Scientist is responsible for research and development for
new and existing imaging products in the GE Healthcare Surgery product line.
Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
Duties include (but are not limited to):
• Working with customers, marketing and field personnel to define
requirements which can be implemented by the engineering teams
• Developing methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their
effects on image quality
• Executing design to engineering standards
• Working within a team to deliver technical solutions
• Working with patient/customers and/or technical leadership to
ensure that the technical deliverables are consistent with the goals of
larger programs, projects or initiatives
• Specification, Design, Verification, and Validation of system
features and sub-systems relating to: Image Processing, X-Ray Exposure
Control, and Visualization.
• Working with cross-functional and global teams to determine
requirements and enhance the current product capabilities.
Quality Specific Goals:
1. Aware of and comply with Stop Order, Concession, Defect Awareness, ESD
, Non-conforming Material, Material Identification/Segregation and Good
Documentation Practices procedures as associated with this job type/position.
2. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management
System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and
regulations as they apply to this job type/position
3. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined
deadlines
4. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take
immediate corrective action as required
Required Qualifications:
• Master degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering, Biomedical
Engineering, Chemistry or closely related discipline.
• Broad exposure to Medical Imaging Physics
• Ability to design and develop imaging algorithms
• Four plus years of experience in a related field
• Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for
challenging design problems
• Demonstrated problem-solving techniques
• Demonstrated ability to make recommendations to technical and
program leadership to improve the product, process or technology
• Effective communication skills and boundaryless behavior—ability
to present ideas clearly and concisely
• Proficient in the use of software tools for analysis and
simulation (MATLAB, etc)
• Demonstrated ability to pursue tasks to completion
• Technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines (
Electrical, Mechanical, Software, etc)
Desired Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering and/or other closely
related fields
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-
task
• Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation |
