1. Senior Principal Platform Software Engineer-Sunnyvale, CA
Responsibility:
· Design key components of the system and establish consensus for your
designs.
· Implementing much of your designs while guiding and mentoring the less
experienced engineers who assist you.
· Ensure that the quality and performance of the components you develop are
exceptional, writing extensive test cases and using modern CI/CD
infrastructure.
· Directly interact with customers, gathering requirements, and proposing
common features that satisfy many seemingly disjoint requirements.
· Putting in the time and doing what it takes to make the project
successful.
Qualifications:
· Extensive experience building low-latency highly available services,
distributed systems, cloud platforms, storage systems, middle ware,
databases, file systems, or content delivery networks.
· Have a deep understanding of scalability considerations in designing high
-performance servers.
· Hands on technical lead with proven track record on delivering projects
on time and with budget.
· Extensive experience in Java/C++ in Linux/Unix
· Know when to write the code yourself and when to use open source. Be very
familiar with open source tools and frameworks in your domain of expertise
· Use agile development methodologies including unit tests, functional
tests, continuous integration, and continuous deployment frameworks.
· A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 7+ years of
industry experience. Advance degree holders can have less years of industry
experience.
2. Principal Platform Software Engineer-Sunnyvale, CA
Responsibility:
· Design large-scale distributed systems and establish consensus for your
designs.
· Coding in Java and/or C++ on Unix platform.
· Solve challenging performance and reliability issues on distributed
network systems.
Qualifications:
· A proven track-record of technical leadership, including responsibility
for design or architecture
· Experience with designing, developing high-performing and large-scale
server applications on Unix platform
· Strong understanding of network programming and client/server
architecture
· Industry experience with high availability/throughput distributed system
· Solid understanding of the computer science fundamentals including Data
Structures, Algorithms, OS and Networking
· Extensive experience with OOP in Java/C++ in Unix
· Experience with queuing and/or storage systems
· Outstanding troubleshooting and debugging skills with performance tuning
experience
