Description:
Perform analysis of claims and clinical databases to evaluate compliance
with federal and state mandates.
Track and analyze healthcare payment model parameters and estimates over
time.
Examine/monitor federal and state laws, rules and regulations to translate
them into compliance algorithms for use within the business intelligence
framework.
Identify health care service delivery and billing metrics that may become
useful compliance indicators.
Execute ad hoc data analyses in response to business requests.
Work cross-functionally within the organization to deliver integrated
business intelligence solutions.
Work with customers, developers, designers, and business managers to develop
analytic models, evaluate efficacy of specific detection rules and fraud
detection solutions.
You must be able to pick up new concepts, techniques and technologies
quickly, be a strong team player, and rapidly adapt to changing business and
customer demands.
Contribute to group strategy, plans and goals.
Participate in the development lifecycle including requirements analysis,
estimating, design, implementation, testing, and release.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires demonstrated analytical and solution design
experience. You will be doing investigations with loosely defined parameters
while looking to detect trends that indicate non-conformance to federal and
state mandates. You will have to be a very effective communicator, be able
to interact and communicate both formally and informally with stakeholders,
product managers, developers, sales engineers and internal quality assurance
teams.
Masters or Ph.D. in Statistics, Operations Research, Data Mining, Machine
Learning, healthcare analytics or similar.
Minimum five years’ experience as a Business Analyst or Advanced Business
in an analytics environment
Solid understanding and experience processing large data files, relational
databases, data warehouses, ETL, and data analysis techniques
Working knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare regulations/standards and industry
standards and best practices
Domain Knowledge:
Significant knowledge and experience in the field of medical/insurance
claims data analysis and post payment review and consulting.
Familiarity with Medicaid or Medicare agency or commercial health/casualty
insurance processing regulations.
Familiarity with relevant healthcare data processing, privacy and security
regulations: HIPAA, HL7, HITECH, U.S. FDA Title 21 and PCI.
Familiarity with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140–2.
Familiarity with general security concepts (authentication, authorization,
encryption, digital signatures, etc.
Familiarity with system vulnerability issues, security analysis and
implementation methods, and security testing.
