Distribution Support Coordinator
Position Description
Primary role will be as a support person in Client Coatings central Supply
Chain department reporting to the Distribution . Responsibilities will range
from leading smaller projects to being a team member on larger ones, as
well as general department support depending on the issues at hand and the
skill and desire of the incumbent. Key focal areas will be Returnable
Packaging, Warehousing, and executing standard processes for key vendors.
Scope
We operate in a multi-site, multi-node distribution environment across North
America. Key external customers are Automotive OE. There are 3-5 suppliers
you will deal with regularly. The main internal functions you will interface
with are Client Coatings Mfg plants, warehouses and internal departments
such as quality, Account management, and Supply Chain.
Key initiatives the incumbent would be involved in:
Tote Tracking
Document the Process flow/design for the physical movement of totes thru the
supply chain
Requires coordination and training across 3 Mfg sites, 3 tote cleaners and
multiple internal groups
Requires working with IT support team to configure/validate SAP / Master
data
Physical Inventory of assets (totes) at multiple locations
Schuetz Totes (plastic)
Coordinate customer Pilot involving Client Mfg. and Account Management
Evaluate other customers for potential use
The planning and management for 2 Tote models and distribution channels (
stainless & plastic) will require considerable coordination.
Tote Liners
Run a pilot at Client Mfg plant for their internal totes and depending on
the outcome, expand to other totes and sites
Skillset desired
Supply Chain Project Management, ideally with experience leading projects
Strong analytical skills
Problem solving and attention to detail are essential.
Organizational, communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills
Must be able to work in a close integrated team and in an extended (cross-
functional) team setting.
Solid MS-Excel skills; SAP experience a plus
Supply Chain experience, ideally in the physical distribution area.
Must be able to pass a Drug & background check before start.
