Microsystem Medical Device Scientist
The Microsystems group of the Electronics Materials and Devices Laboratory
develops novel microsystems for diverse application, including printing,
packaging, biodevices and sensors. We seek an outstanding senior research
scientist to initiate, design and develop novel medical device microsystems
which address fundamental but valuable problems.
Requirements:
Ph.D. with background in materials science, physics, electrical
engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, chemical engineering
or equivalent
Experience developing microsystems for medical devices applications
such as for sensing, diagnostics, drug delivery, imaging or surgery.
Strong publication record. Please include 3 representative
publications in application.
Strong communication, teamwork and leadership skills.
Experience with device commercialization, regulation,
entrepreneurship and fundraising are highly desired.

PostDoc: MEMS Fabrication and Systems
PARC is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for a position in the Hardware
Systems Laboratory. The position will support a new project in the Energy
Systems Area involving the design, fabrication, and measurement of a novel
cooling device utilizing complex microelectronic components. Expertise in
designing and fabricating MEMS is a clean-room environment is essential, as
is experience taking sensitive experimental measurements.
The successful candidate will have:
Ph.D in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or
equivalent
Extensive experience in MEMS design and fabrication
Experience with careful experimental design and measurement
Understanding of thermodynamics, E&M, and basic electronics
Hands-on experience with thermal systems, electronics design, including high
-voltage electronics, as well as physical system modeling, are also desired.
