Software Engineer
Description
This position requires the candidate to have the skills to design, develop,
debug and test embedded software for a networking switch.
Develop software to interface and control ASICs and other devices, as well
as handling internal and external protocols, to support the customization
and production of networking switches. Must understand programming devices
at a low level, including the use of DMA,
interrupts, counters, etc., to achieve desired ends. At the same time,
should be knowledgeable of a wide range of standards and RFCs applicable to
networking, especially those applicable to layer 2 and layer 3.
In addition, must have experience working with wireless LAN technologies for
Access Points or WLAN controller devices along with familiarity of
authentication and security protocols for wireless. Must be knowledgeable
about wireless network infrastructure and its extension into Ethernet and IP
networks as well as the manageability and configuration of such networks.
Strong communication skills to interface with different facets of the
organization is needed. Should also be knowledgeable about the Linux OS and
be able to understand/modify makefiles for a large codebase.
Qualifications
Bachelor's (preferably a Master's) degree in Electrical Engineering or
Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Interest in and knowledge of Layer 2, MPLS, and IP networks
Good understanding of STP, Link Aggregation, ERP, VLANs, OSPF, RIP, SNMP
Familiarity with IEEE standards and RFCs pertaining to computer networking
Have knowledge of 802.11a/b/g/n and authentication and security protocols
for wireless, including WEP, WPA, TKIP, and 802.11i.
Knowledge of CAPWAP is a plus.
Expertise in Linux and the C language;
Knowledge about C++, the STL, the Boost Library, and Python is a plus.
A team player with a personal commitment to quality and producing on
