Required Experience and Skills:
Tech diploma from either a mechatronics / mechanical / electronics program
(or greater)
Good understanding of the scientific method and how to apply it in product
development environment
Good mechanical intuition and/or hands-on experience with small/delicate
electromechanical devices
Hands-on experience in prototype work and building of test jigs and fixtures
Great computer skills: Mac & PC
Proficient with Excel/Numbers and Powerpoint/Keynote
Strong communication and organizational skills
Hands-on and fluent with lab equipment: Data acquisition (HBM,NI), digital
multimeters, power supplies etc
Desired or valuable prior work experience:
Telemetry (force sensors, accelerometers, strain gauges, lasers, temperature
, pressure)
Technical writing skills- i.e. communicating test plans & results
Experience with basic shop & lab tools
Cad skills (Pro/e, Unigraphics etc)
Instron or material testing
Acoustic measurements
Shock and vibration testing
Environmental testing
Programming( Matlab, labview, etc)
