发帖数: 110 | 1 情况是骑驴找马，最近找到一家在纽约的工作，工资经过一点negotiation比现在单位
提升了20%，可是昨天现在单位突然给加薪，也加到在纽约那家的工资。这个不是match
,因为现在单位根本不知道我在骑驴找马。现在单位在中西部，房子和缴税比纽约肯定
少多了。现在很烦恼。已经告诉纽约的单位，他们好像没有意愿给提升工资或者title,
或者其他什么的好处。
大家能帮着看看有什么办法还能从新地方商讨点好处吗？另外正式offer还没有下来，
只是口头offer阶段。 |

move from the current job to the one in NYC all of a sudden. Isn't that
natural to anticipate a bit improvement on the package from the new employer
since the final offer letter has not been generated yet?

bonus/commission? Otherwise, it's puzzling for an exempt position. |

不过是真心是想搬到纽约去，孩子上学比中西部要好些吧。另外中西部也太无聊了（仅
仅是我个人感受哦）。

were willing to increase the salary.

发帖数: 138 | 8 纽约的公校好像不咋地，开销也会大。不过对个人发展来说，机会多很多。
中西部太分散每次换个工作都要拖家带口地搬，纽约都不用挪窝。

company does that, and probably it IS a match to your NYC job. The new
company may have called your current company for your information.

new employer fully understands the raise. Btw, I haven't resigned
from current place yet, so the salary change is NOT a match at all.

1. 房子 （肯定贵）
2. 税高 （纽约有城市税）
3. 通勤 （费时）
其他的好处：
1. 机会多些。当然这个很抽象，要看个人想法和发展意向
2. 孩子教育。 应该比中西部好些。但是很多人说纽约市的公立学校一般，呵呵。
3. 孩子成长环境应该好，毕竟是大都市。我们在洛杉矶，旧金山都住过，共10年，来
中西部4年。
个人还是喜欢大都市的氛围。
4. 其他生活方便的小事情，如：吃中餐，回国方便，不用转机（现在这个小机场每次
出门
转机总是出问题，深恶痛绝），等等可能方便些。

住在学区里就能进。

好区房子贵不到哪去，学校也不错。房子压力小，拼拼还能上私校
地势开阔空气清新
回国转机有直航，到机场也就30到40分钟路程
从小在国内大城市住久了人山人海，现在蛮享受大农村感觉的，可能过几年会腻

呵呵。
地域好坏要看个人喜好了，其实已经被讲烂了都～～ |

, they never really thought about raising even though I said I am waiting
for another offer, so I finally turned it down without negotiating.
Seems like you want to come to NYC, if it's easier to get another job later,
then come even though the same amount of money means less for now,
otherwise you do need to look hard into this. |
