未来2，3个月，我想去纽约或者是加州找工作。
我想知道当地的生活成本，主要是跟人合租的租房成本。
比方说，加州，租房成本比较高，我应该在哪块租房，最好是安全点的区域。
如果我不在加州的话，找加州当地的计算机相关工作，是否有所不便？因为听说加
州的租房成本比较高，但是，我现在还没有一个准确的数字。

/Rockridge/Piedmont
>safe but inconvenient neighborhoods of SF (Sunset/Richmond)/Daly City/
San Bruno/South SF/Belmont/Redwood City/West San Jose/Santa Clara/
downtown Oakland/Grand Lake/Lake Merrit/Emeryville> North San Jose/
Milpitas/downtown San Jose/Fremont/Union City/Newark/Albany/El Cerrito
>Hayward/San Leandro/Castro Valley>unsafe and inconvenient
neighborhoods of SF(Hunters Point, Bayview)/East Palo Alto

The last group are the most unsafe areas in the bay area. Unlike East Palo
Alto, East Meno Park is part of Menlo Park, not a standalone city, so be
careful.
Safe and inexpensive neighborhoods: Sunset and Richmond district of SF (
covered by fog almost year round)/Albany/El Cerrito/Daly City/Fremont/Castro
Valley
Rent is inexpensive compared to buying: Cupertino. Apple is doing super well
but looks like it is not hiring as many engineers as the companies in the
Peninsula.
Rent is overpriced compared to buying: Sunnyvale/Mountain View.
Sunnyvale's rent is hyped solely because it is close to Mountain View,
benefiting from the hiring boom of Google/LinkedIn/Intuit, etc.
Sunnyvale itself is a bland place with nothing much to do and so-so schools.
Sunnyvale's own companies, such as Yahoo/Juniper/AMD are not hiring
many people. Mountain View is not traditionally a rich area either,
but it is in the heart of the hiring boom.
Rentals in the desirable neighborhoods of SF and Palo Alto/Mountain View
go very quickly. 20~30 people showing up for an open house is not uncommon.
Sometimes you have to fight for an apartment.
