Be a Tech Lead or a senior Member of Technical Staff in the User
Interface design area for a very senior and high power R&D development team
working in areas like:
o Work side-by-side with development teams on Next Generation UI platform
for VMware flagship product line - vSphere and Cloud Infrastructure.
o Create/enhance VMware Ecosystem next generation solution platform –
VMware Workbench and the associated Web Portals
o Extend the VMware Workbench into “Cloud” enablement for VMware’s
vertical stack.
o These end-to-end flow starts from providing solutions to enable partner
’s development all the way to finish their certification. This flow
involves many different technology stacks, from UI frontend all the way to
database backend. The smooth and effectiveness of this flow is critical to
VMware and its partners’ success.
· Requirements (*):
o Expert in either Java, Flex, or JavaScript
o Expert in either UI design or Software design
o Track of record in large-scale system software development
· Desired
o Background in public SDK development
o open-source project participation & contribution

o BS degree in Computer Science, Masters preferred
o Leadership role in designing and developing user interface platform
components and/or large-scale user interface projects
o Experience in building distributed enterprise management applications a
big plus
o Ability to communicate easily across multiple engineering groups
o Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills

o Proven ability to deliver on schedule
o Must be comfortable developing browser-based software
o Must be comfortable developing in J2EE and related back end
technologies
o Must be comfortable using web service data providers
o Strong interpersonal skills
· Additional Skills:
o * 5+ years experience
o * Understanding of the enterprise virtualization management space is a
plus
o * Strong software development and system design skills
o * Expert level in one or more of the following: Flex, JavaScript, Java,
J2EE.
o * Knowledge of C++, C#, .Net, and Python
o * Background in API development
o * Strong object oriented design and development patterns a plus
o * Good understanding of concepts and programming in a client/server,
distributed computing environment.
o * Good interaction and visual design acumen.
o * Attention to detail.
o * Able to work well both independently and as a team member.
o * An aptitude for understanding business applications from a functional
