结果, qualify 没过. 然后我建议他找工作,不过他家里人要他继续读博士.
在master最后一个学期的时候,申请了一个差些学校的博士. 同时开始尝试找工作,没
有申请OPT. 结果没有找到full time工作 (找到了实习), 9月份开学的时候到了那个差
些学校读博士.
第一个学期,他继续找工作实习. 联系到了一个单位,结果系主任不肯写信开cpt/opt,
说只能在这个学校所在的城市找,而且一定是只能和统计相关,华尔街那些financial
related的都不算. 现在侄子觉得新学校太差,不想读了. 但是也没有办法拿到opt/cpt,
所以很着急,不知道下一步该怎么走.
是不是要裸奔回国呢? 我想到一个方法是挂靠一个consulting company, 办理h1b先,然
后继续找工作. 不知道大家是否还有办法吗.

degree) and join a doctoral program now? Anyway, stay in the program before
he finds a job that will sponsor H1, then quit school. University welcomes
his stay because he pays tuition, right.
Quitting school now and not change to another status will end his legal

发帖数: 373 | 3 i think he got the master's degree. and somehow also was admitted to the
same school's phd program (at Master's degree's last semester), providing he
can pass the qualification, but he failed.
anyway, he does not want to continue to study in his current PhD program,
and want to find a finance/quant/IB-related job in NYC.
So I gave him advice he can be attached to some staffing company, and then
keep on looking. But I am not sure if it is feasible.

school's DSO must report his violation in SEVIS and USCIS will check SEVIS
record when he files his next application to change status. If he got
master's degree in August, he might still be eligible for OPT. | k*******e

his old Master's program at the other school can no longer issue an OPT for
him.
and new school's phD program does not want to issue CPT/OPT for him outside
the city and at this early.

发帖数: 3349 | 6 刚去新学校一个学期，一般没有学校会给你开CPT，虽说CPT主要是学校说了算，但是一
般也要在该学校完成一个学期或者一年的学习才行。
他这样的，以前学校的OPT肯定也没有了，因为没有在毕业前申请。新学校的CPT/OPT这
一个学期甚至下个学期都没戏。趁着现在H1B还有名额，找到工作的话直接申请H1B然后
开始工作。 |
