背景:Mech Eng小硕,想转行,考了SAS证书,找DC附近analyst/sas programmer工作
9月初,C1 recruiter发信让申请senior data analyst职位,说Richmond,VA和McLean,
VA有职位,可以transfer H1B.
网上提交申请后,做personality test,定时答题numerical reasoning & verbal
reasoning.
通过了后,通知月底去Richmond面试,花了20天准备这一个面试.
On-site 8:00am-2:00pm
8:00-8:30 Test verification
电脑答题,新的numerical reasoning
8:30-9:15 Behavior interview
9:30-1:30 Behavioral interview & job fit interview
10:30-11:15 Case interview
11:15-12:00 Case interview
12:00-1:00 buffet lunch and tour for the building
当天面试8个人,吃饭的时候才见到,通知上写的吃完饭就没事了,回去后留下了我和另一
个,又考试.
1:00-2:15 Retake online numerical reasoning and verbal reasoning tests
Behavior interview的问题都是提前给的list里的,每轮面试问3个问题,自己编故事回
答.两个面试的人都是工作了10多年的manager,介绍公司和职位.C1里有很多analyst职
位.Business analyst是做产品的,make decision,大方向的.Data analyst是技术核心,
Operation analyst集中在客服,Finance analyst是accounting类的工作.
问我的问题:
Tell me about a time you had to consult someone about their area of
expertise.
Give me an example of when you showed initiative and took the lead.
Tell me about a time you had to learn something completely new.
Tell me about a time when you had too many things to do and you were
required to prioritize your tasks.
Give me an example of a time when you set a goal and were able to meet or
achieve it.
Name a time when you had to overcome an obstacle to succeed with a group.
Job fit interview问你喜欢什么类型的工作,给了4个任务描述,让选most and least喜
欢的.behavior面试时,回答问题时,面试的人狂记笔记,方便回去讨论.

Q1: You are the new CEO of a ferry line. Your competitors are a train and
bus service. Now (revenue-cost)/revenue=-20%. The company is losing money.
We were then asked what kind of additional information we might like to know
before we started our first day on the job.
We were then provided with the times the ferry ran, the percent of capacity
the ferry was carrying on average each day, etc. We eventually had to do
some math to figure out how much market share the ferry line was getting as
compared to the train and bus.
The market share is 8%. That means we need attract more customers. We will
increase the frequency, every 10 minutes or 5 minutes. Then the interviewer
gave a graph that shows the market share is 50% for 5 minutes freq and 25%
for 10 minutes. Then I need calculate the revenue for these two conditions.
For example, 10 minutes freq, we need 4 boats for 15 shifts. After
calculation, we still lose money even for 50% market share. Then the
interviewer will ask what to do. I answered we need do the creative things,
such as, selling food on the boat and attract advertisement income.
Q2: There are two options to send advertizing mails- first class (costs 50
cents) and third class (costs 40 cents). What class should be chosen to send
mail offers for credit cards. At this point- you should ask the difference
between the two mails- So, they will say- First class has a delivery rate of
100% but Third has 90%. The response rate is 2% for both cases. And we can
get $200 for each customer responded.
So, which option is better now?
Then at what point are both the same?

case面试时,第一个是个中年老印,开门见山,不停追问怎么办.第二个是才工作3年的年
轻人,有个中年人也在场,是来评估他的面试能力的,埋头看笔记本不打扰.
面试回来1周后,recruiter联系说评估结果我适合MIS analyst,找位置配对.因为我只想
在McLean的office,那只有一个职位是manager的级别的,申了立马被拒.recruiter给联
系hiring manager,电话面试,看是否她想要我,给产生个职位.

面试完了,recruiter通知我被据了,进了他家的candidate pool,等以后有position再跟

我觉得跟HM聊的不好,谈过去的经历都是engineering的,没能说服她.

发帖数: 171 | 9 完全没考具体的technical skills.numerical reasoning & verbal reasoning就是GRE
或者GMAT里的math和verbal题.
跟我同一天面试的8个人,有学统计的master,学数学的phd,学经济的,还有在保险公司做
IT的.感觉C1就是测试你有基本的analytical and reasoning能力,是trainable的,反正
招进去要培训的,具体干什么dive in, get feet wet

case问题没有对错,关键看反应和思路,我答的不好,就不误导了
