to be selective.
One regional market I have been paying attention is the DC/MD/N.VA market,
where largely due to government downsizing, a number of REITs with large %
of assets there have not quite followed the rest on the way up.
If you are interested, you can start with either
Washington Real Estate Investment Trust or First Potomac Realty Trust and
compare with other regional and
national competitors, you will see what I am talking about.
For the record, I own one of them, but also have a smaller SHORT position on
a Retail REIT, and another yet smaller LONG position on a different Retail

How about the energy sector, esp those North American natural gas / coal
companies?
Energy sector has really underperformed.
Because of rising oil / gas output from "fracking", oil price has been
depressed a bit, but at least it's easy to transport oil.
Natural gas price has totally collapsed causing coal price to collapse as

thing. You have to ask yourself: If you believe America does have a bright
future, like in the past, aren't stock markets/real estate all going to make
new highs from time to time? Why is that new highs are like plague that you
want to avoid? If the assets can only fluctuate around some certain level
and are unable to make new highs, why bother to invest?
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying you should jump in on a new high. It's a
matter of investing style. All I'm saying is that making new highs shows the
strength I prefer to see.

as much as their
national peers in 07/08, as private companies were downsizing nationwide but
US govt was not.
The last couple of years have been the reverse, and now the fear of even
more bad news to come.

想miss机会的话, 也可以在RSI掉到40时卖cash secured put。
