229 | 2 Doesn't the following link describe it all?

I think it's reasonable.
When I was a college freshman student, I made only $300 a month for working
on a part time job and I thought keeping $300 in my PNC checking account was
way too much. It was like keeping 100% of my monthly income locked in an
account. I couldn't do that before.
But today, that is not an issue.
For a guy who has $1,000,000 or more, keeping $25,000 in the account is a

And you can't get under for any period of time.
Since their interest rate is very low. Compared to CD, you probably
going to lose 1%-2% on interest. Or $250-500 a year.

You actually gave a number.
Let's take a closer look at this $250-$500 a year interest lose.
Per http://www.merrilledge.com/m/pages/pricing.aspx, we know that one can do 30 trades per month with BAC.
30 trades * 12 months = 360 trades a year.
There are many online brokers charge about $7 each trade.
360 trades *7 = $2520 total cost on the trading fees per year.
The difference between the trading fees and the interest earned is
$2520-250=2270
or
$2520-500=2020
You can save $2020-2270 a ye

transaction, stock or option, like IB. There're also brokers giving
you free trades when you can maintain 25K balance, like Zecco.
