发帖数: 94 | 1 Title: Investigating the solubilization of oil in Gemini surfactant micelles
by using lattice Monte Carlo simulation
Abstract: In this study we investigated the mixing behavior of the Gemini
surfactants (T11H1SnH1T11 ,n=2,4,6,8) and oils (Tn ,n=2,3,4 ) in aqueous
solutions by using lattice Monte Carlo simulation method. The results show
that adding oil to the surfactant solution results in decreasing the CMC.
Investigating the changes of the CMC vs. the spacer length shows that
increasing the spacer length would result in the increase in the CMC and the
decrease in the solubility and partition coefficient of the oils. Our
analysis shows that as the concentration of the oils increase, the
solubility of them also increases but the partition coefficient of them
between the micelle and aqueous phases remains almost constant. Moreover our
data shows that the oils mostly solubilize in the core of the micelles.
