. I got a PhD in XX. My PhD research interest was focusing on XX.
It was a great fortune for me to know you based on our similar scientific
interest. I have read some of your papers, which are extremely valuable to
scientific research and benificial to my projects. You may remember you have
cited my paper concerning XX in your publications.
I am writing with greatest sincerity to ask a big favor. I am applying for
Green Card by claiming my research accomplishments, in order to continuously
pursue my research career in the US. The evaluations on my research work
from a top expert in my field are the key evidences of my achievements. I
wonder if it is possible that you would kindly write me a recommendation
letter to support my green card application. If I could be lucky to obtain
such a letter from you, the renowned and highly respected scientist in the
world, it would be of great significance to my application.
As you might understand, green card is very important to me and my family
since I hope to have an opportunity to develop my future career in US.
If you are kindly willing to write the letter, I will send a sample letter
for your reference. The process is actually very easy. I will have the
letter drafted and you could revise as you think appropriate. You can either
email the PDF copy of the letter with digitized signature or mail the
letter with a prepaid envelop which I will provide. Please be aware that the
letter is just for immigration purpose and it will not be used for other
usage.
I completely understand you are extremely busy, so it is fine you need a
couple of weeks to fit it in your schedule. Also could you please let me
know if it 's not convenient for you?

是不是一开始应该多发几个，以防有人不回啊
