If it's paid by check, they charge it by converting it to an electronic
transfer (EET), namely, using your bank's routing number and your account
number. It definitely refers to the personal check.
If it's money order or certified check, it's nearly equivalent to cash, as
you would have already paid for it.
Personal check is definitely fine, as that's what a lawyer would have
requested from the applicant as well.
