听说申请绿卡期间最好不要出美国境，是指递交140还是递交485之后呢？

throughout 140 and 485 pending period.
For other visas, they have to have AP (advanced parole) (AP can be applied
together with 485, AP does not cost extra) to come back. If they leave
before AP is approved and received, their green card application is regarded
as abandoned automatically.
