发帖数: 430 | 3 totally depends on whether you can claim that it is at the top <=5%. I
claimed IEEE Senior Membership in early June this year as one of the four
criteria. My case was approved without RFE. It may work.

AIChE is a decent organization in my area. I definitely want to use this
senior memebership for something. Since we have decided not to claim a
membership (already have 3 claims for EB1-B), I am wondering if I can use
this membership to support the "contribution" claim?
You guys have any idea? or anybody has any experience like this? |

发帖数: 430 | 5 Try to read the By-Law of your organization to see whether it says
"significant contribution" for the qualification criteria for the senior
membership. Also, try to google sentences such as "XX organization is a
leading xx in xx area." You should also present evidences that this
membership is decided by a committee consisting of world leaders in this
area.
Also, it might be helpful to give evidences that many senior members are
holding prestigious positions in famous organizations.
However, if you are petitioning for EB1B, only 2 criteria are required to
meet. Claiming more weak criteria does not help, it is very likely to
raise RFE contrarily.

membership is really something. Does it require significant contribution?
Does this significant contribution be recognized by world leaders in your
area (equivalently, is your senior membership reviewed by committee
consisting of world leaders?). Objective evidences, always.
