My friend: EB1B (Pending, 485 not submitted)，EB2(140 approved, waiting for
submitting 485). Due to priority date and processing time, he can submit his
485 no early than the end of 2009.
His girlfriend has EB3 (140 approved, 485 submitted last July). Due to her
priority date, she may need to wait 3-5 more years to get her GC.
If they get married, can my friend submit 485 based on his wife’s EB3 as
appendix and do relink 485 for both of them when he could submit his own 485
