发帖数: 1294 | 1 我租了一个apartment， 已经一切顺利的住了几个月了。
这个apartment要求住户付房租使用check或者是moneyorder，而不能用现金，所以我每
个月都会交check。可是就因为交check出了问题了：
上个月我交过房租（用的check）以后，因为另一个开销，大约14、5天的时候用了这个
账户内的钱，但是我没想到这个apartment到我交了check以后20多天才去charge我的房
租。结果就是我的账户余额不足，他没能charge到这笔钱－－因此他罚我check return
$50 加上还要我交late fee $125 （我的房租是1250）另外还不允许我以后用check缴
费了，只能用money order。
请问一下有经验的朋友， 这笔罚款（$175）我一定得交吗，因为对我来讲这可是挺大
一笔费用的。（我不知道apartment的租房条款上有没有对这种罚款的描述，我也不知
道我当时有没有在这样的文件上面签字。）

发帖数: 592 | 2 You should have a copy of the lease, check whether fine and late payment fee
on your lease. If you signed on , then you already agreed. it is hard to
argue.
If you dont have (i can imagine how you dont have a copy of the lease), ask
the apt owner show the document you signed with the fine statement.
If the owner couldnt provide that, then you have a chance to fight against
the charge.
