for home use, the desktop performance is pretty much bounded by disk IO.
faster SSDs should always help

as long as it is not a server to support dozens of simultaneous users or
constantly running programs from a busy queue, it is pretty much the same as
a home computer. I probably should have said for "lightweight use".
again, get an Intel 750 pci-e or Samsung 960 pro (if you have M.2 interface
on the mobo), I bet you will feel the difference.
