I can't believe the product information for this thing is so crap! Anyway.
This tip is:
If you have a adapter that has a amber light in the middle and you are
having drops in internet or slower speeds, it is because the wiring where
you have it plugged in isn't good enough.
If its amber, it means that it sees the other ones in the house, but
whatever is plugged into it is only going to get 10 megs - 45 mps. (I got 46
, but it was being fractious).
If its green, it will go above 50. And since we pay for 50, I want 50
goshdarnit.
My husband's mancave was in another room, and his was working fine. All
greens. I ordered another longer Ethernet cord, and plunked mine in his room
, and all was great. Speed tested wonderfully.
So far I haven't had any drops.
This seems an elementary thing when I type it, but since there is no
information online about this, I figured I'd post it here to help others.
Bottom line: It does matter where you put it! | a**********t

发帖数: 1700 | 3 前两天跳了 Amazon 那个 Actiontec 500M 的deal，真是不行，隔一层楼板就只有
700kB/s 了，比我无线网慢多了，完全没法用，只好拿去退了。其它的牌子没准儿能好
点儿，但我是不会再尝试 powerline 了，要上也得是 MOCA。
我目前最经济的方案就是去把客厅的 PS3 无线天线改造一下，速度应该可以翻倍，看
蓝光原盘估计还是不行，但其它要求应该都能满足。

手机充电器都有可能影响速度，

发帖数: 1700 | 5 我都是插墙上测的。影响的因素越多，越不可控，比如 breaker 在什么地方，server
要不要放地下室，电视要不要放 family room 等等。要是都能那么灵活，我还搞这个
东西干吗，统统放一个房间里牵网线就好了。
