说很多人出现过raid崩溃
这货又不支持ZFS |

发帖数: 27968 | 7 for home use, you could stay away from raid, except raid 0 for speed.
other raid is to guarantee real time access and protection.
for majority of household usage, it is overkill and solution invites problem.
if you have a drive fail in small area, the chance you save most of the
drive is pretty good. but in raid, likely it would crash since something
very likely would go wrong on the second drive, which is the same age and
under same level of usage.
if you auto back up once a day, the first working drive will be stress 100x
more than the backup drive, and if you add a bi-week backup drive.
you are in much better shape.

没有raid的的麻烦有几个
1. 有的数据不一定重要，但是丢了也可惜，这些数据可能大到无法或者不值得备份
2. 即使是有备份的数据，一旦主机丢了，真的恢复起来不一定有想象的容易，你还得
先确认神马丢了
3. 还是有机会在你来不及备份的时候数据丢了
总的来说，备份是给特别重要的数据适用
raid能保证连续运行和减少所有（不管重要不重要）数据丢失的概率
我个人是raidz1 + backup
没有好的raid管理肯定是不给力的

the number of disk you saved from the raid array is more than enough for
backup.
and for backup, don't try those stupid backup software that pack everything
together.
it is a good way to have failure in recover. just copy over to another drive.
if you centralize everything. version control is not that bad for household
usage.
this approach make your back up drive an async Raid.
if you setup to copy new data once a day. you will lost one day work at most.
