1)Follow this procedure to flash new 2.23 firmware.
Install Procedure so far requires TELNET into the box,
ie.
Put the new "install.img" on the root of a usb stick and put it in the
machine.
From Windows "Telnet 192.168.1.123" or whatever the IP is of your media
player
user=root , no password
type the command "kill -6 1" , and watch it update itself

3) add haoIMS to menu:
参照PBO手动加haoIMS和rtmp的帖子,改写menu的格式。不过要修改menu_US.rss，not
menu.rss.
detail procedure:
cd /usr/local/etc/dvdplayer
ls -al
if you do not have a savedrss folder type
mkdir savedrss
cd savedrss
ls -al
if you do not have a scripts folder type
mkdir scripts
cd scripts
copy /usr/local/bin/scripts/menu_US.rss menu_US.rss, then edit.
要注意，
you have to modifiy the menu_US.rss in the /usr/local/bin/scripts/ folder. otherwise, u won't have the permission.
add: HaoIMS http://ims.haoims.com/ http://ims.haoims.com/ims/image/haoims_logo.gif" width="120"

to the end of the menu_US.rss before the line
Comments: When you modified menu_US in the /usr/local/etc/dvdplayer/savedrss
/script folder, the new autorun.sh (from the package downloaded in step 2)
will automatically cp it back to the system when system starts
4) mms rtmp support, still experimental:
(1) Copy attached file below to /opt/bin/ (2) Replace the autorun.sh with
attached autorun.sh (3) Chmod 777 autorun.sh Power off then on. Your FAT+

Is it required to plug in usb drive all time after finishing the mod (adding
optware and samba)?

no. all the files are copied to the chip inside FAT+. The usb is not
needed after installation

这两天研究了一下这个，Seagate的这个东西明显比PBO要好呀
一点心得：
1.所谓的通用固件，完全没必要
a. 只要你的机器可以修改IMS菜单项，有空间mms和rtmp支持文件
b. 所谓的PPS支持，在IMS众多的影视资源前，完全没有优势。
2.能不能看mms和rtmp主要是三方面，
a. 机器本身要有那几个支持文件；
b. IMS服务器生成的rss中的url格式要正确；
c. 自家网络的DNS能解析rss中的url（这个很tricky，comcast的dns解析不了国内
有些网站的域名）
3.最好是自家搞个IMS站点，这样就不会依赖国内的那些个网友自建的IMS平台了。
