Quote:
"Instead of taking part in the operation of a joint firm for producing LCD
TV panels at a Sharp-built factory in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, Sony has
opted to boost its procurement of low-priced panels made in Taiwan to about
50 percent of its total supply from the current level of about 30 percent,
Sony officials said Saturday
Note: Sakai-shi 堺市 within Osaka Prefecture 大阪府 is on the south of City
of Osaka. Both cities are good ports. Japanese Wikipedia says 堺 appeared in
平安時代 (794-1185/1192) meaning and pronounced the same as 境 (border,
boundary)--e.g. 国境, 国界, 国堺 are the same in meaning (national border)
and pronunciation.

(b) The "threads" in his colorful threads":
thread (n): "plural: CLOTHING" www.m-w.com
(c) The report says, "Under Mr. Ishida, Sony has scaled back its production
sites and relied more on contract manufacturers. * * * It expects to
outsource 50% of its TV production this fiscal year, compared with 20% when
Mr. Ishida took over the business."
All to Taiwanese (though this report does not mention it), both LCD panels
and LCD televisions.
