Magpul Pulling Up Stakes in Colorado, Heading to Texas and Wyoming
Keeping good on its promise to leave Colorado in reaction to the draconian
gun laws passed in March 2013, "high capacity" magazine maker Magpul
Industries has announced it will relocate to Texas and Wyoming.
On March 4 of last year Breitbart News reported that Magpul was leaving
Colorado "if Democrats in the state house and senate [succeeded] in passing
a high capacity magazine ban."
The ban was passed, so Magpul is leaving and taking with it the $85 million
it would have generated for Colorado in 2014.
According to The Washington Times, Magpul CEO Richard Fitzpatrick is
splitting his business by taking corporate headquarters to Texas and moving
the company's manufacturing portion to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Fitzpatrick said
this an effort to relocate to states "that support [Magpul's] culture of
individual liberties and personal responsibility."
Wyoming Governor Matt Mead (R) responded to the news by describing "Wyoming
and Magpul [as] a great match." He mentioned Wyoming's low taxes, lack of
cumbersome business regulations, and his own "firm commitment to uphold the
Second Amendment."
In February of last year Texas Governor Rick Perry (R) reached out to Magpul
, along with other firearm and firearm accessory manufacturers, reminding
them that Texas wanted their business and hoping Magpul would consider Texas
a "business-friendly" option.
Upon receiving news that Magpul was coming to Texas, Perry said he was "
proud that Magpul is the latest employer to join the ranks of companies that
call Texas home." | r*******1 发帖数: 4394 | | a***a 发帖数: 8941 | | H******S 发帖数: 6011 | |
