1. 买枪。

Mossberg Combo $309 @ big 5.
第一天晚上去买被据。
big 5 店小二不看绿卡，要求出示任何州颁发的hunting license 或者 attorney
general 的什么letter.
添的表格有个tricky问题，问如果你非移民签证入的美国，是不是 fall in the
exceptions defined in instructions. 我大概读了 exception,基本是外交官，执法
人员之类。所以回答了no.
店小儿说选了 yes 需要hunting license. 选了 no 需要 attorney general letter.
我没有这些东西，白跑一趟。
回家后下载网上表格仔细研究。

Question 11.J 我回答错了， 应该选 no, 因为我不再是 alien under non-
immigtation visa.
表格后面部分有每个问题的instructions
Q 11.j 的 instruction 明确说了 绿卡不包含在内，不是 alien admitted under non
immigration visa.
所以 Q 11.j 对有绿卡的人应该填 no， 和公民一样待遇。
这个表格太 tricky 了，没有几个人会认真读表格的 instructions的。
这样可以跳过 question 12.
基本是店小二不懂，我也犯了错。
第二天换了一家 big 5. 遇到个年长的 sales , 很利索的问公民否，有绿卡否，很快指
出表格如何填。顺利缴费。等10天就取到枪了。
2. 买子弹。

拿到shotgun后发现弹药不好买，本地到处都缺货。 只好恶补弹药知识，在网上买。
发现 Mossberg 500支持12 Gauge, 2.75" to 3" shell.
网上推荐2.75"就够用了， 3"的弹药后座力太大，一般受不了。
种类编号从#7到 #0, 用来打鸟，直到打大型猎物／家防的。当然威力越大越贵。
最厉害的是 #0, #00, 或者 #000， 也叫 "buckshot"。
这里面还有学问：每个shell可能有不同数量的弹丸，8颗，9颗都有。我觉得没有太大
区别。
找到的汇总弹药价格的网站很多，例如

最后选购了cabelas.com的 RIO 25 ROUND BUCKSHOT 12GA 00 BUCK @ $12.99 each，用
了个coupon 免运费。
3. 玩枪

发现shotgun和以前玩过的56半自动很不一样。
换短枪管就折腾我好久，取下容易，装新的半天装不上。
只好耐心读说明书，可惜说明书把几种型号的shotgun混在一起讲解，很烦人。
最后还是搞定了。搞得满手是油。
最后发现警告不要没有枪管的时候 dry fire。可惜我已经在没有枪管的时候dry fire
几次了，惨！
觉得不敢用实弹练习 load, unload, clear magzine, 就在amazon上买12 Gauge dummy
round. 比较贵。
4. 实弹射击

在等子弹。同时找靶场。发现shotgun buckshot不太受欢迎。本地靶场都有限制。远的
靶场才有允许打的。同时发现BLM管理的公共地可以免费打。 calguns 上有人做了
google earth overlay, 标出具体区域。 有机会约附近枪友去试试了。
5. 加入 NRA

包装里有NRA membership的coupon，其实知道网址也可以用这个coupon，省点钱。

网上讨论加入NRA利弊，值不值的不少，我觉得还是加入好。会员还有免费枪和意外保
险，不过据说需要网上激活才有效。
最后贴一张换了枪管的照片。Mossberg 涂了不少枪油，用包装塑料垫了一下。 | f******e

BLM overlays in Google Earth
I finally figured out how to get BLM Land overlays in Google Earth.
After reading through all the material at http://www.blm.gov/nils/GeoComm/home_services.html , I was able to put together a single file that has access to all the BLM overlays. I have posted that file at:
http://s3.amazonaws.com/blm_google_earth/BLM.kmz
Download and double-click the BLM.kmz file, and it should open in Google
Earth. On the left, in Google Earth, make sure “BLM Lands Low-Resolution”
and “BLM Lands” are both checked. This will ensure you’ll see the BLM
Land overlay at any zoom level (“BLM Lands Low-Resolution” will only show
things when you are zoomed way out, and “BLM Lands” will only show things
when you are zoomed in.)
When you stop moving in Google Earth for more than 2 seconds, the overlay
will refresh itself from the main BLM computer, and show BLM land as a
yellow overlay.
