I am also interestedin in buying/assemblying a Ar-15, as just reading
through some documents regarding this. Seems that Chrome lined is way better
than Chrome Moly.

Chrome moly steel is somewhat of a misleading term as well. There are a lot
of steels in the chrome moly spectrum. 4130,4140,4150,etc are frequently
referred to as chrome moly steel. probably the chrome lined barrel is
already chrome moly steel to start with. However. If you decide to go
nonlined, chrome moly vanadium is a better option, however you would
probably never notice the difference and just waste money for the vanadium.
