unless you are deaf and blind.
2. Police will be well equipped in a situation like this, and they are
usually much better trained with a lot more people.
3. You are much more likely to be shot than the police.
4. In the rare scenario that you win the gun battle, you will almost 100%
sure to lose in court.

If the judge/jury believes that you were reasonably acting in self defense,
you will not be convicted of any crime, whether you shot a burglar or a cop.
Of course that's just purely legal theory. In the real world, the cops
probably will find ways to make you suffer for killing one of their own.

Police are trained to distinguish themselves and avoid being mistaken as the
bad guys.
As a standard operating procedure, they will first knock on your front door,
announce their identity, and enter your premise UPON YOUR PERMISSION. Even
if they don't hear anything and the front door/window is broken, and they
decide to enter your house, they will make sure you will hear them coming in
multiple times.
