Championship after playing nine holes and shooting a 42.
Woods was playing for the first time since the Masters and taking time off
because of a knee and Achilles' tendon injury.
After completing the front nine at TPC Sawgrass, Woods handed his scorecard

the fourth hole — and was visibly limping as he shot 42 on the front nine.
He is nursing a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee and a
strained left Achilles tendon.
Woods suffered the injury while hitting an awkward shot during the third
round of the Masters and has not played since that tie for fourth. He was
wearing a boot to stabilize and protect the leg at his Tiger Jam event last
month.
In 2010, Woods withdrew during the fourth round of THE PLAYERS due to a neck
