某些同学，比如我，是为了多赚一天的per diem才坚持到最后一天的。

don't have to be there personally, I suppose. I prefer returning home
Thursday night.
What about AMS? Are you going, too? I got a talk there...looks like it's
easier to get an oral opportunity at AMS. I thought my AGU abstract is way
more significant than the AMS one, but received the opposite treatment. |

欢AMS一点，学东西多。不过AGU的好处是可以见一见大学失散多年的老同学，同门
师兄弟来美利坚后术业专攻不同，只有AGU才能把大家招齐了，好像群妖汇聚五指山
(五岳山)分食唐僧肉一样。

maybe a more famous one where you can see Yau.
Yes, American Meteorological Society (www.ametsoc.org). Only a small number
of people (compared to AGU) go to that meeting.

could have been thrown out of the room. Now I felt lucky I didn't go. If
I had, I probably would bring the whole family and got stuck in the
aftermath of the quake.
