amount of money on players, paying one single player a huge salary is not
necessarily a good thing, even though I think Manning probably deserves that
much money.

about cap room vs cash spending. His contract is likely front loaded, so he
will get average of 23mil in the first 3 years, part of which could be
signing bonus. Signing bound is divided evenly across the entire length of
the contract against the cap room. So he may get 15 mil bonus, which is 3
mil against the cap room in each of the 5 years, but is 15 mil cash spending
in the first year or 5 mil average in the first 3 years.
