Manager's Message
IT'S MANATEE SEASON! Don't get excited hunters, this just means manatees can
often be seen here, as the Suwannee River is colder than the springs. These
large aquatic herbivores seek refuge in Manatee Springs relatively warm
waters. Shoot pictures only, our gentle giants are fully protected by law.

Generally, Manattees like to stay in cold and fresh water
so when the weather is cold in Florida, for example, Spring, you have a
higher possibility of seeing them
I saw several and pat them last spring in crystal river. |
