Each time you 'waste' your time in fishing, you actually save your time in
seeing your doctor.
The world is so balanced that for everything you have missed, you have
gained something else, and for everything you gain, you lose something else.

I got shocked by bigcatfish's suggestion at

Every one of us here has learned English for more than 20 or so years.
We wasted a lot. But what have we gained? Nearly nothing.
As bigcatfish suggested, what if we stopped learning English
and began focusing on our work instead?
English is the barrier that makes us smaller in this world.
