Thank you for contacting the Shu Uemura online boutique.
L’Oréal extends its deepest sympathies and support to the victims, their
families and all the people of Japan who suffered, or are suffering, as a
result of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck the country on
March 11th. We immediately closed our Gotemba City manufacturing facility on
the day of the earthquake, as a measure of precaution, even though it is
located 300 km away from Fukushima, thus well outside of the impacted zone.
Consumer safety and product quality have always been L’Oréal’s top
priorities. We have put in place a series of strict monitoring measures in
our facilities before we considered resuming our production process. These
measures ensure all products produced at our Gotemba City plant undergo
thorough testing at every stage of the supply chain, from when raw materials
arrive to when the finished products are shipped.
Additional controls by independent third-parties are also being conducted
upon arrival at each distribution warehouse in each market, or else at the
market entry point. No product will enter our markets without these
inspections or controls.
Having decided upon these measures, we resumed production at our Gotemba
City facility on Monday March 28th.
We are grateful for the support we have received from our consumers in the
United States and can guarantee you that L’Oreal will take all the
necessary measures to uphold our consumers’ trust & attachment to our
products, as we have always done.
