I just feel so weired that i lived in the USA longer than my birth place,
Shanghai.
In the eye of Shanghainese, i am a Hong Konger.
In the eyes of Hong Kong People, i am from China and never be part of them, even
i own the citizenship in HK and speak fluent Cantonese, still i am not one of them.
And in the eyes of Americans, i am always be a foreigner. Sometime i feel
frustrated , i don't know where i belong to.

belonging.
Even we speak the language, make friends with the locals, eat their food,
dress like them, and watch their TV, but deed down we are still lack of
something.
I don't want whether we will go back China in future, since my baby is born
in here, and the Education system is too competitive in China. I want her
to enjoy her childhood life : )

we will take her to visit China quit often (once every one or two years) for
her to remember her root.

I know it is hard for parents to push it. I meet some ABCs starts to learn
Chinese when attending graduate school, by that time they understand no
matter what they did they are still Chinese.

alway said they are different from me, they are Americans.
Recently, one of them tells me she is Chinese. I think after so many years,
she finds out no matter what she is still a Chinese and that is her root. |
