Sr./Scientist, Protein Chemistry
We are looking for an energetic and dynamic hands-on scientist with
initiative and a
collaborative spirit in our protein chemistry lab. This is a fantastic
opportunity to drive antigen/antibody expression, purification, and QA to
support
various therapeutic biologics programs while providing leadership to our
discovery efforts.
Responsibilities:
• Set up and run, in a hand-on way, to express, purify, and
characterize proteins, fusion proteins, antibodies, and bispecific
antibodies for the R&D pipeline in both small and large scale amounts
• Develop and implement analytical techniques to assess therapeutic
candidates
• Perform stability and pre-formulation studies on purified
proteins/antibodies
• Generate and provide protein reagents to other departments in the
company and to collaborators
• Introduce and develop new technologies to drive the production
and purification of novel therapeutic candidates
• Present reports and results internally and externally, including
to collaborators and at scientific conferences
• Help set scientific direction, strategy, and innovation within
Discovery
Requirements:
• PhD in biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry or similar
fields
• 2-5 years’ experience in the field
• Deep understanding of and hands-on experience with various
protein production and analytical technologies
• Hands on experience in analytical techniques including HIC-HPLC,
LC/MS, SEC, IEX, RP-HPLC, DSC, and capillary electrophoresis (e.g. reduced
and non-reduced CE-SDS, icIEF).
• Previous experience in a biologics development setting preferred
• Very strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability and willingness to work within a team
• Superb organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to take initiative, anticipate problems, and offer
solutions
• Hands on lab management experience
