Assistant Professor of Computer Science
(Full Time, Tenure Track)
The Department of Computer Science is seeking a tenure-track Assistant
Professor, beginning fall 2015. Only candidates in either high-end computing
(HEC) or computer vision, graphics and animation (VGA) will be considered.
Sub-areas of HEC include operating systems, programming models and tools,
distributed/cloud computing, fault-tolerance, and power-aware computer
systems. Candidates must teach core computer system courses (e.g., operating
systems and compiler construction) as well as some specialized courses (e.g
., cloud computing and computer vision) in either HEC or VGA area.
Candidates must have a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a
closely related field. A strong record of scholarship in either HEC or VGA
is required. Candidates are expected to establish and grow an externally
funded research program. They must also be willing to engage in
collaborative interdisciplinary research with faculty members from other
departments. The Department offers Bachelor and Master of Science degree
programs, certificate programs, and faculty may supervise Ph.D. students
through the Computational Sciences Joint Doctoral program. The Department
houses research in several computer science disciplines, and is committed to
collaborative research experiences.
