helpful. I visited all the places Charming mentioned, plus a couple of
other places Bolixin listed in her post. Even though I did not have time to
walk through everything in details, but I now can say – being there and
seeing that.
In addition to sight seeing, I spent a lot of time on Bond Street, Oxford
and Regent Street. Shopping in London is quite fun even though the price is
steep.
The night scene in London is endless with real quiet time comes in the
morning - the streets do not get busy until 8:30-9:00ish. If anyone wants to
find a cheap bar with decent excitement and good drinks, I would recommend
Freedom bar in the SOHO area on their Kinki Kabaret Monday night, IF, I said
IF you do not care this is more a metrosexual joint.
Since it was a business trip, I also had opportunities to stop by Manchester
, Horsham, and Maldon. Took trains from 3 different stations to these three
places, YIKES!!! However, I do like their underground tube (subway) system
and it is fairly cheap when getting a 7-day pass. Taxi is very expensive. It
only cost me 22 pounds round trip between Liverpool Station and Maldon, but
the taxi ride from Bond Street to Liverpool is more than 25 pounds. Overall
, London is expensive - it is like for an item or service you can get for $1
in the US, you need 1 pound in London.
