I'm doing coastal ocean modeling for a few years, recently focusing on
using ROMS model for estuarine forecasting/nowcasting. ROMS is the leading
model now in US and it's relatively complicated system.
Yet there have been new proposals funded by NOAA/EPA to do regional
environmental forecasting, i.e. couple regional ocean model such as ROMS,
POM or CH3D or FVCOM with regional atmospheric model such as WRF and land
use models such as SWAT etc for an integrated system. A lot of focus i |

Generally, job market for coastal ocean modeling with concentration on
environmental problems are mainly in academic and goverment agencies, so if
you want to go to industry, this is not a very good direction yet.
Ocean forecasting (operational oceanography) and environmental forecast
(ecological forecasting) are becoming the hot spots of science and
engineering pursuits these days. Down scaling of global warming research, i
.e. looking at regional scale effects of global warming/ |

一直在干field work),请问有没什么办法快点入门(我是指modeling)? 说说刚上手(
modeling)的经验也行.

发帖数: 507 | 13 那么多年书都读了，学什么新东西基础一般来说都够用了。我个人的经验是，如果你想
学，工作上又需要的话，有个明白人点播一下，很快就能上手。如果是自学的话，难度
就很大了。
