requirement:
1) full
for example, when you look up a word 'abject',
it should return you as many annoations as possible. |

regulator of the English language... |

G***G 发帖数: 16778 | 5 I nearly tried all the dictionary you guys pointed out.
they are not the one I am looking for.
www.w-m.com is not dictionary, it is abridged.
london english is not my favour.
webster has a lot of version? which version do you mean?
the dictionary I am looking for is
the one with
1) more examples
2) accurate annotation
3) synonym/antonym for each annotation
【在 k********e 的大作中提到】 : webster?

k********e 发帖数: 448 | 6 not sure if it meets your requirment, but the one i have is merriam webster'
s collegiate dictionary 11th edition.
did some research on line before buying it a few years ago. don't remember
which criteria i used to decide to buy this one. |
G***G 发帖数: 16778 | 7 I have this too. but I think the disadvantages for the dictionary are
1)the annoation for each word are too complex
2) examples are too old.
3) synonym doesn't come with each annotation.
4) it is an abridged version.
5)thesaurus is separated from the collegiate. that is, sometimes one word
has three meanings in collegiate but just two meanings in the thesaurus.
So you don't know what the synonym for the third meaning is.
I am looking for a dictionary with thesaurus embeded exactly
in the collegi
