Words can be grouped as Active and Passive. One’s active vocabulary
includes those frequently used in one’s writing. Passive vocabulary
includes those not frequently used, but comprehended when one encounters
them. Active words can be divided as structural words and lexical words.
Structural words include pronouns, prepositions, and linking verbs, like I/
me/we, of/at/on, am/is/are. Lexical words include nouns, verbs, adjectives,
