NEW YORK, Aug 25 (Reuters Health) -- Divorce has long-lasting effects on
parent-child relationships, according to a report in the August issue of the
journal Demography.
Presumably because divorce weakens family ties, divorced parents --
especially divorced fathers -- are less likely than widowed parents to have
children who will care for them as they grow old, affecting even informal
caregiving.
