| P**********c 发帖数: 3417 | 4 Build vs Buy is not always an easy decision. Cisco hasn't been actively investing in chip design for years. Chip design is not a high margin industry, generally not as high as Cisco's core switching business. Chips nowadays are cheap.
Many companies could build chips themselves but chose not to in the end. HP, GE, Moto are examples. If what you said is true, none of them should spin off their chip division.
