high price. There must be some institutional arrangements that make this
absurdity happen.
goldenbear mentions "price discrimination". This makes the question even more
puzzling. Usually in price discrimination, producers charge high-end users
high prices, low-end users low prices. (high or low in the sense of marginal
utility) Here the contrary happens. (A common Chinese consumer, much poorer
than a common American c

in Canada? US is a WTO country..Guess you are right, there must be some

Generally speaking, the desire of "being alive" is so strong and that is
indifferent between a rich and a poor guy. Or put in a different way, it has
positive infinite utility for both guys, since any other utility will be
conditional on the realization of this utility.[1] Thus, everyone is willing
to spend all money (resource) that he/she has to stay alive, which is
consitent with the majority of empirical observations.

| g********r 发帖数: 1458 | 9 You can not compare common chinese consumer to Americans. The point is how

be so high.
Maybe the producer does not even care about the common chinese consumer(he
knows they can not afford it), so chinese consumer is really high-end, of
course not all, but some.
And tax, I don't know if there're really high tax on that medicine, but it is

order price discrimination among different countries. If Chinese market is
just a small portion of the company's overall market, the company also can
conduct the first and second order of price discrimination. (Extra price above
