How can u get the kind of intellectual challenge and joy from work? Work is
just for make a living. And I don't think it is a probelm for any phd to make
a living.
Money is a benchmark. But not a universal benchmark.

many many papers are just bullshit.
How people struggle to get their papers publish after rounds and rounds
of review, rejection..It is not fun at all.
Plus the tenure pressure..
Only real genius can enjoy...

you have more freedom about what you want to do and what you don't want to do.
Other people's papers are BS doesn't mean what you write have to be BS.
Anyway, I am starting PhD this fall and probably I will know more about it
later. But now I am looking forward to it.

显然。。这个并非经济学之真谛。。
所以quit了。。改读应数。。。
计量。。有机会议后业余的时候再研究研究

others are just being paid the boring premium.
It is really hard to write non-BS (unless you are really NB),
and the worse thing is that
you have got a genius' mind but not genius'ability,then you can't
even publish BS
