if this is something you are interested, you may want to check out
literature on game theory, and its application in political
science.
I know quite a few people in this area (more towards finance/economics), and
feel free to let me know if you need help.

Thanks for qili's reply. Yes, this is the topic of one of my essay for
Microeconomics. Unfortuanately, this quarter I met a very harsh professor in
that class, who is from Singapore but can speak chinsese. ( Are all the
Chinese professors in US enjoying torturing students?). He required everyone
to turn in an extra essay after the final exam. And last year, he taught the
same class and failed four out of eight. Approval voting is very hot in those
days and mostly it is adopted by some professio

I am not that keen on voting (it probably is a political science topic). In
finance, game theory has been extensively used, and yielded some very

If you have access to EconLit, you can do a search on related literature (voting and
game theory); other resources include Lexis/Nexis, PriMark, and Dow Jones News
Retrival (can only go back two yeras).
One related literature is on central bank decision making (on monetary policy).
Europeans are ahead in this area (von Hagen, Fratianni).
Battacharia (I may have got the spelling wrong. He's an Indian from India),
David Besanko (now in Michigan) are two good starting points two.
