Dear Women engineers in MIT BBS,
My name is Hang-Shim Lee. I am a doctoral candidate in counseling psychology
at University of Missouri, and am conducting my dissertation on women
engineers’ career development. My dissertation study will examine personal,
socio-cognitive/ behavioral, and environmental factors that can improve the
work and life satisfaction of women engineers like you. As an engineering
graduate from a big engineering school in the U.S., I am writing to invite
you participate in this project.
Your participation in this study will extend knowledge of women engineers’
job and life satisfaction and can inform psychologists and career counselors
on ways to enhance women engineers’ work and life satisfaction. In
addition, your participation will help to support female student engineers
at your university, as I plan to make a donation to a program that supports
women engineers at your graduating college. Please take the time to share
your voice and experiences at work through this study to inform policy,
educational and workplace interventions.
Participation in the study will involve the completion of an online survey,
which is estimated to take only 15 minutes. To learn more and/or to
