Job Description
The candidate for this position will actively participate in
interdisciplinary projects to study the environmental impact of conventional
hydropower and hydrokinetic renewable energy systems. The primary scope of
this position is to develop low power circuit designs for autonomous sensor
platforms and miniature transmitters that can be used to detect and track
fish or other animals in the river or ocean.

Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years from an
accredited college or university. All staff at the Pacific Northwest
National Laboratory must be able to demonstrate the legal right to work in
the United States.
Qualifications
Candidates must have received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related
field within the last five years.
The candidate must have hands-on experience with analog electronics design,
circuit simulations, and test equipment. The candidate must have
demonstrated commitment to data quality and accuracy and exhibit a strong
work ethic and be self-motivated. The candidate must have strong written and
oral communication skills as evidenced by scientific publication and
conference presentations within the past five years. The successful
candidate must have demonstrated ability to work well independently and in a
multi-disciplinary team setting. Due to the challenging and innovative
nature required for this position, experience with one or more of the
following is expected:
¿ DC-DC converter circuits
¿ Mixed-signal ASIC development
¿ Circuit board development
¿ HDL coding (Verilog)
¿ System verification
¿ Software development (Matlab, C++)
3.5 GPA or higher is preferred
